We are a charitable trust and a registered charity working to support a connected, sustainable and thriving community.

We are a representative voice of our community working with our Community Boards, Runanga, Christchurch City Council, Environment Canterbury and governmental organisations as we apply for funding and oversee community projects to develop facilities and grow events that contribute to our community’s well being. Our Wairewa community area includes Birdlings Flat, Cooptown, Little River, Okuti, Puaha and the outer Southern Bays.

Our projects include improving water management, walkways, updating and expanding on local facilities such as the playground, historic buildings and supporting pest management and sustainability. We run many events throughout the year to help bring our community together. Look out for our regular events – Seniors/Kaumatua Hui, Neighbourhood Breakfast and school holiday events to name a few! We will be organising many more events, old and new, throughout the year.

Want a voice, a say in your communities development? Come and be part of our group and see what we are all about. We meet on the first Monday of every month at 7:30pm in the Meeting Room at the Little River Service Centre.
