This is the 2026 update to the Little River Big Ideas Community Plan, first published in 2016. It’s the Wairewa community’s plan for what we all want to achieve for the Wairewa area, coordinated by the Little River Wairewa Community Trust, and it sets out what’s already been achieved since the original plan.
What’s new in this update
This update includes a new section for Birdlings Flat/Te Mata Hapuku, along with an updated look at growth, facilities, roading, waterways, and the environment across the wider Wairewa area.
It’s a living document, updated as new ideas and opportunities emerge.
