Trust Aims
To promote the sustainable development of the Lake Wairewa and Southern Bays catchments, plan, fund, develop and establish facilities which contribute to the social, cultural, environmental or economic wellbeing of residents or visitors to that area'.

Geoff Marks and Rose Fitzgerald from Little River, have been appointed onto the Akaroa Wairewa Integrated Health Steering Group.

Wairewa is part of this group so there is a need to understand what the community of Wairewa wants.
Wairewa is the area of the former Wairewa County and includes the settlements of Little River, Cooptown and Birdlings Flat.
Wairewa has no Primary Medical Health Service and our community is presently required to sign up with doctors at Lincoln, Christchurch or Akaroa.
The question is what does the community want to achieve?
What can the community achieve?
This page has been set up to give space for open debate for people who live in Wairewa/Little River to express opinions and debate the future for Health facilities in Wairewa.
Too many times, people from outside the community of Wairewa have come with preconceived ideas for the community to adopt. We have given our opinions which have often been ignored.
There will be a diversity of opinion so we want to start with no agenda, no preconceived ideas.
Feel free to express your ideas on the health discussion page
