About The Trust
We are a Non Profit Incorporated Society working to promote the sustainable development of the Wairewa area which includes Birdlings Flat, Cooptown, Little River, Okuti, Puaha and outer Southern Bays. While being a representative and voice of our community in developing working relationships with our Community Boards, Runanga, Christchurch City Council, Environment Canterbury and Governmental organisations, we apply for funding and oversee community projects to develop and establish facilities and events that contribute to our community’s wellbeing.
Our upcoming projects include improving and developing existing and new walkways, planting river banks, creating a beautiful Heritage Garden and establishing a community Orchard. We run many events throughout the year to help bring our community together. Look out for our regular events – Seniors/Kaumatua Hui, Neighbourhood Breakfast, School Holiday events, Twilight Picnic, to name a few! We will be organizing many more events, old and new, throughout the year.
Check out our website www.littleriver.org.nz Here you will find information on “What’s On” in our Community, event write-ups with photos, community groups and their contact details, our monthly meeting minutes and much more. Be sure to check it our regularly as this is frequently updated and if you join our email list, updates will be sent to your inbox so you don’t miss anything.
Want a voice, a say in your communities development, then come and be part of our group and see what we are all about. We meet on the first Monday of every month at 7.30pm in the Meeting Room at the Little River Service Centre
